Better late than never...but never late is better! Okay, so this week, we got me rocking for Jimmy Choo, spinning a 2 hour house set on www.rspradio.com , rocking the La Jolla Playhouse, and Nordstrom all in the same week!!! Aaaahhh!!! I'm also hyped to be working on the redevelopment of www.shammydee.com. I think it will be a welcome change for everyone involved...let's just say that you'll be getting a closer look at the insides of who Shammy Dee is and what I do on my day to day...be sure to come back soon and keep it locked my peoples!

HAPPY NEW YEARS PARTY PEOPLES!!!! I hope that this year is off to a great start for everybody! December was a busy month and we are into this year with a good start. I'm currently working on some new material (gyeah!) and have a few projects in the works. We got some fun things planned over the next few months, I'll def keep you posted. Hey everyone...I missed the last monthly update because there was TOO MUCH GOING ON! We had wrapped production of "Welcome To Arroyo's" earlier this month. It was a great success and we got a lot of great feedback from lots of people who caught the show. In the interim, your boy has been rocking events with the Rag & Bone fashion designers, Rock & Republic, Mary J. Blige, and the International Interior Design Group. I'm currently working on some commissioned remixes, so look out for a posting soon. Also, the latest single off Transcripted Thoughts, Code Of Conduct, has hit the #1 and #2 most added slots on college radio charts this week...we start again!!! I'm looking forward to the end of this year. I got some new mixes/music/and gigs coming up...so keep it locked. We got some major things going on!!!! -Shammy

Yoooooooooo...so I'm currently deep in the belly of the Old Globe rehearsal halls working as the music director for the play "Welcome To Arroyo's", written by Kristoffer Diaz and directed by Jaime Castaneda! I'm really excited for it. The cast is really dope and as I'm watching this develop, I already know the outcome is gonna be dope!

What a summer!! Guess I was hitting the beaches too much to update...sike! You know I be putting in that work. Things are popping off...since being added to the charts, "What's Going On" has broke the top 10 and hit #7 on the rap network record breaker charts and #8 on the rap attack lives charts. I'm feeling good that it can hit the #1 slot soon...!!! As always, events are in the works...things are moving along...and we making progress on new projects. Sorry for the missing monthly in May. A lot was going on (as it always is!).

This week, "What's Going On?" got #1 most added on the Rapattacklives.com charts and #3 most added on the Rap Network Record Breaker charts! Peep the soundcloud page to listen to the music!!!

Also, I'm beginning to start the process into the 2nd album and I'm really excited. It's gonna be a direction that may surprise people (but I think I'm letting the cat out the bag early if I explain further!). New projects in the works as well as mixtapes. There never seems to be enough time in the day to finish them though!

Yo yo yo!!!! Life is going great and I'm hoping things are going well for y'all...a couple updates for you:
1 - Dance with the deejay has been climbing the charts for some time now. This week, it hit #5 and #7 on two different college charts and we are shooting for it to go #1!!!
2 - Lots of gigs this month. Peep the calendar for dates. April 8th will be a fun gig for all my LA heads...
3 - The new album is in the works...completely different from what you know...I'll just keep it at that for now.
4 - Gyeah...big ups to all my Amorati brethern! Holla!

What's happening y'all!!! Hope you are all doing well as we come into the beginning of spring! Eid Shoma Mobarak to all my Persian fans in the house!! This has been an exciting month, one highlight is having Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo fame and Pete Nordstrom of Nordstrom stores show me love toward my DJ'ing...more confirmation that you are rocking with the best y'all! DWDJ is climbing up the charts as we speak and I've been really excited about that. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope your '09 went well, but I'm feeling quite good about 2010!! I'm not really doing resolutions (easy to break...I'm focusing on creating habits!), but some changes are coming into effect! Soooo, the monthly update! Hosting a gig with Ozomatli this Saturday (the 19th) at the GRAMMY Museum for their 'Musical Explorations' program. This is for the kiddies!! Come have a good time dancing and learning moves for their show that same night at the Nokia Theater!

What a month!!! October was great...a lot has happened!! First, the single "All Of My Life" has peaked mid-October to the #1 and #3 slots in the college charts! Shoutouts to the homie Reazon.

Also, I was a part of a dope Obama/Thriller spoof that we shot last Monday! I play one of the dancing zombies. Shoutouts to Alpha Cat, MGF, Sweepy, and Khaleed. The link should be up asap!

After finishing a nice run at the hollywood bowl hosting "Summer Sounds", shot my parts in the upcoming "Runaways" independent film featuring Kristin Stewart and Dakota Fanning, releasing another single to college radio, and dj'ing still, I'm ALMOST ready to take a break...

Sike...this is when things start picking up again!!! Lookout for a monthly residency that'll be in the works and a the new Shaun White commercial that I'm in airing later this season!

Hey,

It’s been an exciting time for me last month. I have been BUSY, to say the least! The play I’ve been working on starts MONDAY, June 6th! It’s called SummerSounds and it’s at the Hollywood Bowl. Come thru! It’s $7 and it runs every morning from Monday through Friday. For more information, click here to go to the Hollywood Bowl site!

During rehearsals, I also shot my first feature film called “The Runaways”! It’s a pretty heavy hitting cast: Kristin Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Stella Maeve, Scout Taylor-Compton, and the list goes on! Your boy rounded out the cast playing none other than…wait for it…

The DJ!

But it was a fun shoot and every one was really cool. Look out for that next year!

Also, peep the cameo in the new Reflection Eternal video for "Back Again"!

As you see, the myspace is updated. The facebook is almost ready to go live, should be up in a couple days…but check back for more info. I’m preparing for video blogs sooner than later…

Bah! After hitting number 1 on the charts I felt like I was nowhere to be found...but that's a damn lie. Your boy was working it OUT! Holla at him though...

Check for your favorite rapper-slash-DJ-slash-ACTOR in two upcoming commercials near you. I won't spoil it too much, but let's just say one of them starts with "Game" and ends in "Fly" and should be airing near the end of this month if not early next month. Also, be on the lookout for a car commercial with your legendary Afro-puff next month too...I'll keep you updated as it airs or even shows up on youtube...

Also, there are works for changes to the myspace page. I've been peeping the proofs and I'm liking the layouts...expect that to happen by early April.

AND...more to come. Lookout for some new music and videos coming soon...it's gonna be a good one.

RIP J. Dilla. He was (and still is) an inspiration as a producer and has influenced many a producer in this day and age...

He unfortunately passed away Feb 10th, 2006 of lupus. It was a huge loss to hip hop as a whole...

That being said, his legacy still lives on through music. So I'm posting a link to download the first installment of the Dilla Sessions...one of the many tributes that DJ's post up. Feel free to download, pass around, and enjoy it!

Happy New Year everyone!! We survived a rough 2008, and I’m feeling that 09 will be a good year for all of us. It was a busy December, and now we are back on it for the new year!!

Expect a couple changes within the next couple months…we are working on updating the myspace, adding another website for SoFull Entertainment, planning big things with the Zu Crew Nation, and (drumroll please…) working on the new album!!! (Finally…I know!)

Peace Y'alls...got some crazy news for y'all!! Shammy Dee and Keith Murray got down on some collabos!!!

Kind of...

I laced at least 4 different tracks off Keith Murray's new album (Puff, Puff, Pass) Premier-esque style, on the 1's and 2's!! Big ups to my man Jaz for hooking up that opportunity! If you are a fan of Keith Murray, like I am, you definitely want to pick up the album...it's pretty tight!

In other news...things are all good. Look out for your boy shams to be doing a couple shows in SD and also Memorial Day in LA.

Waaay too long...I know...but I've been running around like crazy - going to conferences all over cali, meeting artists, learning, and executing. A lot is happening right now as we are gearing up to do a little Bay Area Promo Tour next week (SF Stand Up!!). I'm really excited about that.

Also, we are shooting a new video for "howudoin" this month. It's gonna be a unique video...I want to share the concept with you, but I'll wait until I can get some pictures...you'll have to see it to believe it!

Well...shoutout to all the folks I met at the ASCAP conference last weekend. Hope you all got in safely back home.

Ooooooh weeeee!!! Well, there is exciting news...

Rise has just broken into the top 10 of the rapattacklives.com charts!!!!

This is real exciting stuff! Rise has been on the charts since mid-February and came on the charts at #17. And we've been steady climbing ever since!!! Thank you to all the DJ's who have been supporting the music from jump!!

More and more exciting things have been happening. I've been meeting plenty of execs, dj's, and artists who have been guiding me in good directions. So things are on the move.

Aw yeah...

Rise also got selected to be on the keepitclassic.com newest Underground Hip Hop Compilation Vol 12: "Spring 2008".

Previous artists that have been on Vol. 11 have included El Da Sensei, Punchline, Wordsworth, Sean Price, and more! So I'm hyped off getting on the new compilation.

Look for it to drop toward the end of March!!

Yo...I had a great time DJ'ing for the people of San Diego on Sunday!! I did the afterparty for the opening of the Seven at the La Jolla Playhouse. And let me tell you, it was CRACKIN!!!!!

We had the place jumping from start to finish....!!! It felt good to be rocking like that and I can't wait to do it again for y'all...

So for all you party people in SD...you gotta catch a show with your boy shams when he is on the Wheels...!!!

By the way, if you want to watch some dope, innovative theatre, you most definitely want to check out the Seven @ the La Jolla Playhouse. Worth getting tickets for and peeping out!

This is real exciting because the dj's are feeling the music...now it's up to you to keep requesting Rise at your radio stations.

These are exciting times...!!! Things are beginning to pickup now. But before I get into that, you may have noticed that some channels to view my material are coming up as Arash. We are pushing the music nationally as Arash (aka Shammy Dee)...same dude, same music, different name. So keep your eyes peeled for that!!

Back to more excitement. This upcoming wednesday, Feb. 13th, "Rise" should be premiering in college radio stations across the nation! So request Rise today!!! (Or wednesday...as long as you request it!)

Happy monday y'all...! Hope the past weekend was a good one for you. It was pretty relaxing and unproductive on my end, but you need those weekends once in a while!! HA!

Well, exciting news coming up...it looks like I'm gonna be a part of a filming for an MC battle over the next couple weeks. Now I'M not battling...no. But they will be using my dj skills (along with my pretty face!) to spin beats for MindPower Productions' "Who's the best Emcee" competition in San Diego!! Pretty exciting stuff. But it's not just myself...DJ Sachamo will be spinning along with me! So Illfonix crew will be representing.

The first filming will be this Friday, 12/14, in Club Montage in Old Town San Diego. After the battle is over, Sach and Shams will be rocking the 1's and 2's till the cops shut us down (or until 4 am, whichever comes first)!!

Yo...what's good fam?! As promised, things are beginning to brew and we are anticipating 2008 to be the happening year. The music video has gotten great feedback so far, and with 1,000 views already under the belt, I'm looking forward to what's to come for future music videos!

On another note, this is an exciting time for me!!! Why? Well, I'm gonna be working with the legendary Nasty Nes of www.rapattacklives.com, who will be pushing 'Rise' as the first single off the album Transcripted Thoughts.

The first West Coast DJ to host an all rap radio show on Seattle's 1250 KFOX in back in 1980, Nes has over 20 years of solid relationships with 100's of dj's nationally.

THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE RISE MUSIC VIDEO!!!

Yeahhh... here is more of the info:
Where: Kadan's (on the southwest corner of 30th and adams)
When: This Friday, November 23rd, from 10 pm to 2 am.

We'll be premiering the video later into the night. Also...check out the live sets spun by illfonix's own Mike II Bless and a special dj set featuring DJ Artistic and Mr. Brady around midnight!

You'll want to come to this event...no cover, no dress code...all dope flava for that assssssss.......!

Wow....that's all I'm gonna say. There has been even more transitions within the past month that have simply been amazing...I'll get to that another day...but I want to update you on a unique show coming up this Wednesday...

That's right, Ursula Rucker (has worked with the Roots, Jazzanova, 4Hero, and King Britt, to name a few) will be performing live at the Roxy Theater November 7th. And your favorite DJ Shammy Dee will be backing her on the 1's and 2's!!! Come thru for a rare and unique performance that you do not want to miss!!!

What's good everybody!! Things have been moving as well as changing! A lot of good transitions have been happening. I just wanted to shoutout a couple peeps first...

Big ups to Jas of Forward Motion on KPFK radio. I was featured on his show last Sunday and it was off the hook! Also shout outs to DJ Sachamo and the iLLfonix crew for our 6 year anniversary!! It's been a pleasure riding with y'all for as long as I've been on crew! Big ups....

And happy birthday to my boy Emilio!! We are gonna be rocking out at St. Tropez tonight from 7 to 10:30'ish. Come thru if you can...it's gonna be off the hook!

I know it's been a long minute...but a lot has been going down peoples! A lot of changes and movement in different directions. But all in all, I'm hoping you all are well and staying cool in the summer heat!

I'm working with my boy Headphone Jones on a new mixtape that I will be posting up for a free download. Check for that within the next couple of weeks...

I also wanted to let you know about some DJ gigs happening within the next couple of weeks:
-St. Tropez: the first Thursday of every month. Off India and C st. From 10 pm to 12 am!
-Harney's Sushi: the 4th Friday of every month. Old Town San Diego! From 10 pm to 12 am!
-The Adidas Store: 7/28 - downtown SD. Sometime in the afternoon...

All of these gigs are in San Diego...so if you are free on these particular evenings, roll thru!! Would love to see you there!

Alright....alright...we are MOVING PEOPLES!!!! This is an exciting time for us.

If you've been following along, you already know that my man Vejae and myself have been in the lab grinding away on his 2nd release (but his 1st as an emcee!), Order Of Things.

Mark your Calendars for April 13th and 14th...that's when we are making it happen!!! So keep that weekend open for a dope party. We are in the final stages of making this happen y'all!!!!

Things have been moving along real well now...I'll post more later on, but in a nutshell, Shammy Dee is an official DJ for Bloomingdale's Stores and Transcripted Thoughts is now up on iTunes!!!!!! Exciting times. Also, Vejae and myself are also involved in a dope project...can't talk details too much, but know that when it's out there...it's gonna be fresh...
